No one’s life should be cut short because of the home they live in.
Across the UK, people’s lives are being cut short up to 16 years — and damp, cold and mouldy homes are part of the problem. These unsafe homes are damaging health, trapping families in cycles of illness and inequality.
Right now, the government's planning a 10-year delay in applying decent home standards to private rented homes. That means 10 more years living in homes that make us sick.
It doesn’t have to be this way. With bold action across all the building blocks of health — including safe, warm homes — we can change lives for the better.
Call on your MP to act now. Urge them to ask Ministers to make tackling damp, cold and mould a key part of a cross-government strategy to reduce health inequalities and build a healthier future for everyone.
